Monday

Hello Everyone

We've been working hard this week, finding and teaching a lot of new people. A man approached us in the street and asked if I gave English classes. I told him yes, that I am a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and that I teach people a message about the teaching of Jesus Christ. In addition, I offer my service as an English teacher to those who desire to learn English. He gave us his address and we set an appointment to visit him with his wife and 4 children to teach English.

We arrived at the appointment and taught English as well as a missionary lesson. Everyone was very engaged in learning, and the children were particularly excited to learn how to say a prayer. They accepted the offer to continue learning more about the gospel. I am excited to teach them and hope that they progress in the gospel.

I am full of so many feelings. I feel sorry to leave so many wonderful people here but also excited about my return. I hope that all is well. I will be happy to see you soon.

Have a wonderful week

Tuesday

Hi family!

It was awesome talking with you on Saturday! I hope that everyone is doing well.
It was great to see Shannon. I think she´s a good match for Daniel. Send her greetings from me.

We had a visit from Elder Walker (a member of the 70). It was a wonderful meeting--very powerful and faith-filled. Our mission president told us that Elder Walker was very pleased with our mission and said that we are exceptional missionaries.

We have an investigator that will soon be baptized. I hope that she progresses well

Hi Family

This week we were successful in finding people to teach and in placing baptismal dates. I hope that we will be able to help them progress.

We are working especially closely with an investigator that is trying hard to quit smoking. She loves the gospel and desires to be baptized, but has had an addiction to cigarette smoking since she was 8. It´s a hard battle, but we´re confident that she can do it.

I was exicted to see a less active family come to church this Sunday--for the first time in a long time, they came. I hope that we can help them continue to keep the Sabbath Day holy.

Tomorrow begins a new week. Hopely we will continue to have success. "The standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing"

Have a wonderful week

Monday

Ya estamos en Abril--El tiempo pasa muy rápido

Hi Family

I enjoyed watching General Conference this past weekend. I enjoyed Jeffery R. Holland's talk and also the words of Dieter F. Uchdorf. I hope to be able to put into practice the things that I learned.

This past week has been a bit difficult for missionary work. There are a lot of people out of town for Spring Break. The upside is that we have managed to find some people to teach--many of which came to watch general conference on Saturday and Sunday. Many are preparing to be baptized.

The Church has given us all small cards which say, "Gracias a que Él Vive" (Because He Lives). They contain a web address with a small video about Jesus Christ, with the hope that more people will learn about the gospel. It`s a wonderful video with a beautiful message. I hope that more people will want to hear the gospel.

We have 3 investigators that are progressing towards baptism. I hope that we can be of help to them as they search for the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.

Hopefully they will be able to be baptized soon.

Que tengan una buena semana (Have a great week)

Happy Easter (Almost)

Hi Family!

We had an interesting week. The work was a little slow because everyone has left for vacations, but still working hard to find people to teach.

Our investigator attended a baptism this past Saturday, as well as the Women`s Broadcast--two wonderful experiences for her. She has been progressing well and wants to be baptized, but is still battling to quit smoking. We try to call her constantly to encourage her.

I enjoyed watching the Women`s conference. I had never heard the new song about families in English (in Spanish, yes). It is very beautiful. I enjoyed the messages about the family. Even in very family-oriented places like Mexico, the family is under attack.

Looking forward to General Conference, hoping and praying for our investigators to progress, and enduring.

Have a wonderful week

Hi Family

I hope that Daniel`s wedding was a wonderful experience. I am glad to hear that the open house went well.

We have had a great deal of success in finding people to teach this week. One lady came up to us and said something like, "Sisters! Hi! Can you come and teach me? I have cereal for you". Surprised, we entered her house and agreed to teach her. We learned that her husband had passed away and that recently her neighbor, a dear friend had also passed away. She expressed feelings of loneliness and feeling distant from God. We hope to help her the best that we can. She has received missionary lessons in the past and has family members in the church from a different ward.

I hope that the Lord will help her.

I look forward to the women`s conference and the sessions of General Conference coming up. I hope that I can learn something new that will help the work.

Have a wonderful week,

-Hermana Schuetz

Hi Family

Hi everyone,

It´s been a wonderful week, visiting more people and teaching more people about the gospel.

We contacted a less-active sister and her daughter (19) on Saturday. They expressed desire to return to church draw near to God. It seemed like they had a positive experience at church this Sunday. We hope to help them as much as we can.

We have found new people to teach this week. One lady that we taught for the first time told us that she would like to be baptized along with her daughter and that she knows that is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, we only have the chance to teach her once a week, but we will try to help her progress the best that we can.

I am working hard to focus on the work in these last few months of my mission. There are still things to learn, teachings to apply, hearts to fill and people to find. The work moves forward.

It´s sad that I won´t be present for the wedding, but on the upside I have many other things to think and worry about as far as missionary work is concerned.

There is such a great potential for success and such a hope for miracles that I will be completely occupied .

(until May 27th)

Hey Everyone

This week has been quite incredible. I was moved to a new area with a new companion. My new area is incredible. Amazing. Wonderful. Inspiring. Why? Many reasons.

Number 1: We live directly in front of the church building. (Or better said, We live in front of an LDS powerhouse stake center with a church attendance of about 150-200.) This means that we can regularly teach people in the church and we don´t have to take a 40 minute bus ride to attend our district meetings every Monday night.

Number 2: This area is filled with people. Many of whom are receptive to the gospel message. Lots of families. Humble people. Full of love and desires to learn. We are teaching two people who are on the serious road to baptism. If all goes well, one will be baptized this Saturday.

Number 3: We have a washing machine. No words can properly express the excitement that a certain Sister Schuetz experienced while (for the first time in a long time) using a well-working device to wash clothes.

Number 4: The members are incredible. They care about missionary work. They support us the best they can. They help us in many aspects of the work.

My companion is also an incredible missionary. She has a short time in the mission field, but she is an excellent teacher and a caring person.

We will have success :)

Have a wonderful week

Hi Everyone, hope all is well

We had interesting things happen this week. A lady approached us as we were teaching an investigator and told us that she would like to learn more. She explained that she had just moved into our area and she had been listening to the sister missionaries in her old home. She has family who are members of the church, who encouraged her to listen to the missionaries. She has attended church and loved the experience. She has been trying to quit drinking and the sister missionaries have been a great help. She is considering being baptized. She came with us to church yesterday.

Another lady approached us with great interest as well. She told us "Tengo sed a conocer" (I´m thirsty to know). We put an appointment to visit her this week. I hope that she will learn and accept the gospel as well. I know that God has placed these people in our path for a purpose and I hope to help the best I can.

I was informed yesterday that I will be transferred to a new area. It seems a bit quick to leave, but I trust that the Lord knows best.

Have a wonderful week!

Hi Family

This week was interesting. We had a good deal of success finding new people to teach--we´ve put a lot of appointments for this coming week. We ate with the bishop´s family twice. ( A wonderful family with two small children). I hope that we can help unite the ward in missionary work.

We learned that one of our investigators doesn´t like a particular family of active members in the ward. The upside is that our investigator will shortly be moving to another part of the city and so there likely won´t be any awkward encounters. We will pass her information to the missionaries close to her new home.

We have all been called to attend a special missionary meeting today at 4. I find it a bit odd, because with exception to our District meetings, we never have had special meetings on Preparation Day. Hope everything is ok.

I hope that Rachel had a very happy birthday! I thought of her a lot yesterday.

Have a wonderful week!

Tuesday

Hi Family

This week was interesting. We have a very interested investigator with a small family. She is committed to come to church this week. She even asked if we could pass by her house to attend church together. (Of course!)

We were contacted by many people with genuine interest in learning about the gospel. I hope that we can teach them effectively. I hope that they will progress.

Tomorrow we will go on companion exchanges. I will stay in the área and my companion will leave for another área. I hope all will go well.

Thursday we have a special Zone meeting, and soon we will have interviews with the mission president.

I hope all is well and that you enjoyed Valentines day.

Have a wonderful week!

Monday

Ya es Febrero

Hola Familia

Hi Family

Ok, if there is anyone who is upset because I´m writing in Spanish, they can blame the dad who requested it.

We had a great week. An investigator acepted a baptismal date. She is very interested in the gospel, the Book of the Mormon and the prophet Joseph Smith. We have an appointment with her tomorrow.

My new area is a lot larger than my old area. It´s the wealthiest area that I have worked in my entire mission. I´m truly in the heart of the city--full of buildings, shopping centers, and a large park where my companion and I go to exercise in the morning.

The members of the church work very hard--with a huge faith in the Lord. I am anxious to work hard here--the people are ready to listen to the gospel. I hope to have a lot of sucess.

That´s all

Tuesday

Hi everyone

I´m working in a new area that´s huge! Much larger than any other place I´ve been in, and in the heart of the city. I´m still trying to take it all in. We visited some less active families this week and some active member families. Everyone is very kind and welcoming. The Bishop even treated us to Chinese restaurant food.

I feel very grateful and also very humbled to be working here. There is huge potential for the ward to grow. I hope that the Lord will bless the work here.

Have a wonderful week!

Monday

Hi Family

We had a good week this week. A baptism in our ward on Saturady. English classes the same day.

One of our investigators came to the baptism. He still has a lot of doubts about the church, but I think that it was a positive experience for him to come to the baptism.

The person who was baptized in our ward is a 17-year old who has wanted for a long time to be baptized but has not received permission from his parents. He recently recieved permission from his mother--a great suprise (before, she objected the idea). The whole family came to see his baptism.

I received news yesterday that I will be transfered to a new area (tomorrow). I am a little nervous and a little excited. I have been working in the same ward since late June of last year, so it will be interesting to work in a new place.

Hope all is well. Choose the right

Hi Family

Hi there!

Sorry I didn`t have much time to write last week.

My companion passed a night in the hospital. She had some sort of "Bronquitis", but it wasn`t very serious, so she was only there for one night. She feels fine.

We had a good Día de los Reyes. I cut a slice of bread with a small plastic doll inside, as well as my companions.

All the missionaries received toasters, mirrors and bookshelves from the mission which was pretty nice.

One of the investigators that lives in our ward will be baptized this Saturday! He thanked me for teaching him, and said that my teachings were a contributing factor to his baptism.

That`s all for now. Hope all is well. Have a great week!
