Monday

Hi Everyone

We had a wonderful church activity this past Friday. One of our investigators participated in a singing number. I was so glad to see him participate. I also enjoyed watching the Women`s Conference on Satuarday. A member helped put a computer in a separate room so that I could watch it in English (along with another American sister missionary). I thought that all of the talks were wonderfully written and given, but I was especially grateful for the talk given by Elder Uchdorf.

I am hopeful for some of our news investigators. One of them is a close friend of a member. She is reading the Book of Mormon, attending church and has plans to watch general conference with us. I hope that she can continue to progress towards baptism.

Faith is a principle of action. If we have faith, we act. Peter had a bit of faith and was able to walk of water. But we, just as Peter, must learn to cultivate this faith so that we will not drown in a sea of doubt or disbelief. Faith motivates us, inspires us and moves us to better that we would otherwise be. We are changed from just people and turned into saints--sons and daughters of an all-mighty and all-powerful God. If we have faith, we can do anything. (Matthew 17:20).  On the other hand, if we don`t have faith, we can do nothing. I hope that you will take a bit of time to read what the scripture guide says about faith, and that you will always "fan the flame of your faith" (Jeffery R. Holland). I know that Jesus Christ lives. He is our Savior. He knows us He loves us. Trust in Him. Have faith in Him. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hi Family

This week has been truly amazing.

We had transfers. I am working in the same area, but with a new companion--Hermana Gomez, my first companion in the mission field. I am so happy to be working with Hermana Gomez again. She is an amazing missionary with a powerful testimony. She is a very intelligent doctor as well.

We had a lot of investigators and less active members at church this Sunday. I am so glad that they came. We also have several plans to work better with the members of the church to bring these people closer to Christ. I hope that they will continue to push forward. It´s a very difficult thing to completely change one´s lifestyle into a lifestyle completely opposite to the lifestyle lived by most people here in Mexico.

Spiritual Thought: "Be Strong and of a Good Courage, be not afraid, niether be thou dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with thee, withersoever thou goest." God will never abandon His children. He will always be there to bear us up during our trials, troubles and afflictions. As it is clearly written in the Old Testament, "In a little bit of wrath I hid my face from thee, but with everlasting kindness will I gather thee". I know this to be true. May the Lord forever bless us. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hi Family

Hi Everyone

This week went by very well. We are so excited for a family that we are teaching. The mother and her son came with us to church this Sunday, and last Sunday. They are both reading the Book of Mormon, praying and they even fasted with us on Sunday. The only difficultly is that the father of the family has a difficult time living the Word of Wisdom. He is interesed in the gospel, too but we hardly get the opportunity to see him. His wife was fasting for him. I have very high hopes for this family.

We have one week left before transfers. My companion is likely to be moved to a new area, considering that she has been in the same area for a long time and that the mission president told her to expect to be transfered.

I am so glad to hear about Rachel and Samuel`s temple trip. It`s likely those on the other side are descendents of those I`m teaching. I am very grateful for this work.

I hope that all is well and that you have a wonderful week

September Begins

Hi Family,

This week our family of investigadors committed to living the Word of Wisdom. I hope that all will work out well. We have put a lot of goals to better our teachings and our form of working.

I will be having the regular every-three-month interview with the mission president this Friday. He has asked that all the missionaries present him with a specific goal and a plan to accomplish it. My goal has to do with challenging people to repent.

I having been pondering a great deal about the impact of small decisions in our everyday lives. It is the small and good things that we do each day that make up who we are. It is living the simple principles of the gospel that allow us to become a great instrument in the hands of the Lord (Alma 37:6-7). It is part of the gospel of Jesus Christ to Endure to the End. I think that as we choose to act, rather than to be acted upon and as we choose to do the best and become the best we can be, God will bless us, guide us and protect us.

That's all for now

Have a great week
