Merry Christmas (Almost)

Hi everyone,

I am still serving in the same ward, put in a different work area than before. We had a baptism this past Saturday with a long-time investigator that has passed many missionaries and finally decided to be baptized. It was a great day.

We are going to have a special Christmas Conference with a talent show and different fun activities this Thursday. I`m excited for the Chrsitmas festivities. I hope that people all over the world remember the true reason for Christmas and that we turn our thoughts and hearts more to the Savior at this time of year.

Have a wonderful week

Hi family

This week went by well. I enjoyed watching the church Christmas Devotional. A lot of wonderful messages.

I recieved news yesterday that I will be transferred to a new area. I still don`t know where, or who my companion will be, but I hope the best.

Excited for the Chrsitmas season and for the opportunity I have to serve Jesus Christ. I have goals to try to serve Him better and invite others to do the same.

Happy December

This past week our stake had a wonderful activity put on by the Relief Society. Our ward preformed a skit of The Lion King with a lot of gospel themes incorporated. Unfortunately, we didn`t get permission to go to the Stake Center to see it, but I heard that it was a big sucess.

We didn`t do anything super special for Thanksgiving. The Relief Society president had us over for lunch and made us a potato soup, steamed vegetables and other tasty Thanksgiving foods, which was nice.

We received a letter from our mission president with the rules/expectations regarding our calls home for Christmas. I will google-translate it and send it out.

Our landlady`s brother repainted our bathroom. (It used to have mold growing in the walls, but it`s a lot better now). After he finished, he asked us if we could help him  thank the Lord for work. We gladly offered a prayer and invited him to learn more about the gospel which he readily accepted. He doesn`t live in our area, but we will be giving his information to our leaders tonight.

I hope that all is going well and that you are preparing for Christmas. Think of a gift that you could give to Christ this year and work on it every day leading up to Christmas. I am sure that you will see miracles.

Have a great week

Hi Family

This week had some ups and downs. On the one hand, our family of investigators acepted a baptismal date. On the downside, after going strong for 3 weeks, the father of the family fell back into his alcohol addiction. Whenever something good and righteous will take place, the adversary is always trying to stop it.

We got the opportunity to help a sister in the ward decorate her Christmas tree. It`s always exciting to remember that Christmas is coming.

We got an email from the mission president that the church will let out a Christmas video that will be played in Times Square in New York City. We also recieved instructions to give out small Christmas cards to introduce people to the gospel and help them come unto Christ.

That`s all for this week

Hi Family

Hi Everyone,

This week we had our Stake Conference. The Stake president is a good man with a lot of love for the ward. Our mission president came to the Saturday Night session and gave a great talk focused on members and missionaries working together. Our 16 year-old investigator came, and felt very inspired. He said that he would like to be a missionary. After the session, he talked with the Stake president and acepted the invitation to come to seminary.

On Sunday, we had a very interesting session of Stake Conference. We watched a broadcast from our Area Seventy, who gave a wonderful talk about the impotance of daily scripture study. We also got to hear from Elder Neil A. Anderson. The broadcast was for our stake and a few other stakes here in México.

Another one of our investigators came to the Sunday session and told us that it was a wonderful conference, and that the choir was excellent.

Have a wonderful week,

Hi family

This week was fun. We had a nice ward activity in the stake center on El Día de los Muertos. The different rooms in the church building represented different parts of the Plan of Salvation. At the end, we had a brief explantion of Family History work. It was a big sucess. A lot of people came and participated.

I am beginning to start giving English clases again. The numbers are small right now, but hopefully if the members begin to come and invite friends it will be sucessful venture.

We went to a member`s house today and made brownies and Devil`s Food Cake. It was fun to have the oportunity to bake something. :)

We are also teaching a family that is progressing very well towards baptism. Right now the only challenge is that the mother of the family works on Sunday. She has been working on Saturdays and Sundays (only these two days) for many years and it is difficult to change her work schedule. She told us that she would ask her employer if she could change days, and we are fasting and praying a lot so that she can keep the Sabbath Day holy.

That`s all for this week
Have a wonderful month of November

Hey Family

Hi Everyone

So today marks my 11th month anniversary for being a missionary. Time has gone by quickly.

It was a good week this past week. A lot of rain, but a lot of people very interested in the gospel. We are teaching several individuals as well as two small families. We went to the missionary hospital close to the temple this past Saturday, where we received an immunization shot. I think it`s for flu season, or something.

We have also had some very effective meetings with the bishop. We are planning activities more effectively and working on trying to include the members better in missionary work.

Working to improve my grammar in Spanish. I can carry out a conversation well, but it`s a bit more difficult to speak with perfect grammar.

Hope that Daniel had a happy birthday.

Have a wonderful week
